The government says it also has installed e-POS (point of sale) machines at 2,254 ration shops. These machines will help monitor sales at these shops online.
According to a government statement released today, the entire automated system – supported by biometric identification – is expected to check corruption at ration shops. The statement added that now only the genuine consumers will be entertained at the ration shops.
The government also is thinking to increase the commission of shopkeepers.
