Islamic State Court Orders to Release 29 Assyrians
A Sharia Court of Islamic State (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, ISIS) has ordered for the release of 29 Assyrian Christians kidnapped by ISIS during the past few days.
According to Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a human rights group that reports on the conflict in Syria, the Sharia Court in the countryside of Tal Tamer has issued the order for the release of hostages.
An Assyrian commander informed SOHR that Assyrians communicated with ISIS through mediation with IS jurists who informed them that the kidnapped Assyrians of the other villages will be brought in front of the Sharia courts to decide on their verdict, SOHR said Saturday.
The terrorist group has kidnapped 220 Assyrians from villages around the town of Tal Tamer in the province of al- Hasakah.
According to the information received by SOHR, the ISIS led the hostages to Abd al-Aziz mount southwest of Tal Tamir, where the terrorist organization controls 10 Assyrian villages.
