Beverly Hills Celebrates Chinese New Year
Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau hosted its second annual Chinese New Year celebration, welcoming Chinese locals and visitors alike.
Traditional Chinese performances and live entertainment filled Canon Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills, including a ceremonial lion dance and drum corps, martial arts demonstrations, dancers and acrobats. William W. Brien, M.D., Mayor of Beverly Hills welcomed the crowd of 1,500 people.
“The festivities were family-oriented and vibrant. The street was lined with spectators and al fresco diners, enjoying the festivities,” said Julie Wagner, executive director, Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau.

The VIP event brought travel trade, media, local Chinese dignitaries and key community members together to celebrate the Year of the Snake.
The evening included live entertainment, raffle prize drawings and food from Xi’an Beverly Hills. Centrally located in greater Los Angeles, Beverly Hills is a premier vacation and business travel destination.
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the city’s incorporation in 2014, Beverly Hills is gearing up for citywide celebrations to kickoff at the end of 2013. On the horizon for the city is a new theater, Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts opening fall 2013.
