ISIS Kidnapped 40 Indian Workers, Kills 39: Reports
While the Indian government has been saying that the 40 Indian construction workers kidnapped by ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) in Iraq are safe, new reports reveal that 39 of them have been killed by the terrorist outfit and one managed to escape.
A report published in “India Today” – a leading news magazine in India – revealed today that two Bangladeshi construction workers, who were kidnapped by ISIS militants in Iraq along with Indian workers in June, have confirmed that the militants shot dead 39 out of the 40 kidnapped Indians.
The report also says that “one worker miraculously survived the execution to tell the story of the tyranny unleashed by the group.”
While the Ministry of External Affairs in India had confirmed in June that 40 Indians were kidnapped in Iraq by ISIS, the government maintained that they were not harmed by the terrorists.
However, a newpaper report had said in June that the abducted Indians are feared killed. As this happened immediately after the Narendra Modi-led BJP formed the government in India, it was stated to be “the first foreign policy crisis that confronted the newly elected Narendra Modi government in its first month in power.”
The kidnapping and reported killing of Indians by ISIS could also be its way of expressing its displeasure with the BJP government, which is perceived to be pro-Hindus or anti-Muslims in India.
In fact, another terrorist organization Al-Qaeda has labeled the Indian Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi as a “Hindu fanatic and mass murderer.”

However, Modi has shown his full confidence in Indian Muslims. In a recent TV interview, Modi said al-Qaeda won’t succeed in its attempts to woo Muslims because all Indian Muslims are patriotic, and they will live and die for India.

Terrorist outfits such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda are targeting India and Indians abroad particularly after the formation of Modi-led BJP government in India. These Islamic outfits fear that Muslims in India are not safe under a Hindu regime led by Modi.
According to new reports, the Indian worker named Harjeet Masih escaped, as he pretended to be dead after he was attacked by the terrorists. He then told that his fellow Indian workers were killed by ISIS on June 15.
A TV channel has indicated in a new program that the Indian workers would have been killed by ISIS, though the official Indian sources have not yet confirmed the reports.
