Indian PM Narendra Modi Plans to Quit. अब अच्छे दिन आने वाले हैं
While at present India doesn’t have any political leader in any political party who is suitable to run the country as Prime Minister, Modi’s retirement will be a sign of solace for Indians.

Achhe din anne wale hain (Good days are coming) was a Hindi-language slogan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the 2014 Indian Lok Sabha election.
The slogan claimed that if BJP wins the election and Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister (PM) of India, the country (which has been experiencing bad days under the Congress government) will see good days.
BJP won and Modi became the PM of India in May this year, 2014. But the days have been going from bad to worse for Indians. The BJP government – which is a totally inexperienced bunch of politicians – has failed on all the administrative, social, and economic fronts.
And finally – after wasting about seven months in his position – PM Modi has expressed his desire to quit the post. Giving the reason for his sudden planned retirement, Modi has said that BJP’s parent Hindu outfit Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other affiliated Hindu groups are spreading communal hatred in the country.

These BJP groups, which are hell-bent to make India a Hindu Rashtra or a nation only for Hindus, are making controversial statements and forcing minority communities (such as Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs) to change their religion to Hinduism.
Opposition political parties in India have protested strongly against the BJP government and particularly Modi on the issue of forced religious conversions which amount to human rights violations.
But beleaguered Modi is unable to tame these Hindu groups because they were mainly instrumental in BJP’s win in the Lok Sabha election and in making Modi the PM of the country.
And to woo the voters before the 2014 election, Modi himself had been singing the Hindu song with the pledge to make India a Hindu Rashtra. With nearly 80% people of India’s 1.25 billion population belonging to Hindu religion, BJP and Modi exploited the religious sentiment of people to their political advantage.

However, most know that the secular nature of India is the main strength of the country where people belonging to different religions and castes prefer to live together peacefully – unity in diversity kinda thing, you know.
Now this flagrant spread of communal hatred by BJP and related Hindu gangs has become an untamed monster which is standing agape to devour BJP and, of course, Modi.
But Modi is a cunning politician. He is using even this ugly situation cleverly. In order to attain the status of a political martyr and hold clout among the voters, he has threatened to quit citing the increasing incidents of communal hate in which his Hindu accomplices are involved.
However, the fact of the matter is that Modi and BJP have failed in running the country efficiently. Some would argue that it’s too short a period to judge the performance of a government. I agree. But at the same time, I also believe in the maxim: “coming events cast their shadows before.”

During the past seven months, BJP under Modi has not shown even a single end-to-end process to achieve the socio-economic targets that India wants to achieve. With this naive approach, BJP won’t be able to do any good for the people of the country even in decades of its rule.
Instead of making and showing the processes for governance, Modi is simply dependent on shallow sloganeering and useless rhetoric, as his communications advisors tell him to do while he himself lacks skills to run the country.
As Modi doesn’t have any original idea for development in the country, all his major plans and projects are lifted from the files of previous Congress government.
So, Congress’ Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan becomes Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Congress’ Skill Development Mission is now Modi’s Skill India Scheme, Congress’ Financial Inclusion Programme is Modi’s Jan Dhan Plan, Congress’ National Manufacturing Policy of 2011 has become Modi’s “Make in India” Project, and so on.

That’s okay. But the trouble is neither Congress nor Modi could develop any process to implement these schemes. You can expect results only if processes are in place. The seven months that Modi has spent in his office may not be enough to expect good results, but it is a huge period to develop workable processes, which he could not do.
Moreover, Modi has failed miserably to fulfill all his pre-poll promises. Of late, social activist Anna Hazare threatened to launch a protest against Modi’s BJP government, as it has failed to deliver.
Hazare has warned Modi that he must fulfill his poll promise of paying every Indian citizen Rs. 15 lakh (USD $25,000 approximately). Modi and BJP had allured the Indian voters before the Lok Sabha election, saying they will recover the black money stashed away abroad by a slew of Indian crooks and distribute it among all citizens of India. But they failed to do so.
Similarly, the opposition Congress party released a 30-page booklet to highlight the unfulfilled promises and lies of the ruling BJP in India.
Titled “chhe mahine paar, U-turn sarkar” (six months spent by a U-turn government), the booklet counts BJP’s false promises made during the recent Lok Sabha election. It says that the Modi-led BJP government has failed on almost every step.
With this pathetic record, Modi is doing more harm than help to the people of India. Now, he will be doing a good service for the country if he steps down from the PM’s post, as he has hinted.
While at present India doesn’t have any political leader in any political party who is suitable to run the country as Prime Minister, Modi’s retirement will be a sign of solace for Indians. That’s for sure.
Actually, ab achhe din anne wale hain (अब अच्छे दिन आने वाले हैं ), as Modi is planning to go.
