Recycled Plastic Bottles Used to Make Nike Kit for Indian Cricket Team
Team India and Nike today unveiled the new One Day International kit that the Indian Cricket team will sport starting January 18th in Australia.
According to Nike, the new lightweight team kit combines high performance innovation with sustainability: each kit (jersey and bottoms) is made out of an average of 33 recycled plastic bottles.
Nike, the official apparel sponsor of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), crafted the latest Team India uniform in a new design.

The uniform was designed by listening to the voice of the athletes and collecting data on the form and movement of today’s players on the field, says the company.
Following extensive research and athlete driven insights, Nike designers created a new dynamic fit using a four-way stretch fabric ideal for cricket, enhancing comfort for the players and allowing the body to move naturally within the kit.
According to the company, the Nike Dri-FIT technology and Nike Pro Baselayer helps regulate the player’s body temperature through increased venting and breathability for players to stay focused on their game.
Team India will debut new uniform in the upcoming Tri-Series in Australia. Team India kits are now available at select Nike India retail and through Nike website.
