If all goes well with the California independence movement, the Americans in other states may need a visa to visit the Republic of California.
Although it has been an ongoing movement, the ‘Yes California’ (#CalExit) campaign has gathered an unprecedented momentum after the the Donald Trump presidency and people’s extreme hatred for the U.S. President-cum-businessman.
The campaign plans to hold an independence referendum – similar to the recent Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom – to establish a mandate, followed by a nationwide campaign to advocate in support of a constitutional exit from the United States.

On March 5, 2019, according to ‘Yes California’, Californians will go to the polls – #Calexit vote – in a historic vote to decide by referendum if California should exit the United States.
The Yes California Independence Campaign will qualify a citizen’s initiative for the 2018 ballot that if passed would call for a special election for Californians to vote for or against the independence of California from the United States.
In order to explain why you should vote ‘Yes’ for California to exit the Union, the ‘Yes California’ has released a comprehensive digital booklet that aims to answer most questions about California’s freedom.

Moreover, the Yes California Independence Campaign will hold an open question-and-answer forum for public on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Four Points by Sheraton Los Angeles International Airport at 9750 Airport Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90045.
The forum will consist of a panel inviting questions from the press and public to the leaders of the campaign. They are Louis J. Marinelli, President; Marcus Ruiz Evans, Vice President; and Stephanie Kamari, LA Regional Director.
Although the campaign does not explicitly mention the Donald Trump presidency as the reason for California exit, a survey was launched immediately after the November 8 election to know people’s preference.
CALIFORNIA: Are you ready to secede from the United States? #Calexit
— Yes California (@YesCalifornia) November 9, 2016
A whopping 76% of respondents agreed to secede from the United States. In the next step, the “Yes California” campaign aims to collect 600,000 signatures in 6 months on the #Calexit petition. These signatures will form the basis for a full referendum for California to become an independent nation.
As it is believed that Russia had a damaging influence on the U.S. presidential election that Trump won, the California secession is expected to be similar to the disintegration of Soviet Union, which led to the formation of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) or the Russian Commonwealth.
By the way, the leader of the California independence movement Louis J. Marinelli has strong connections with Russia and has lived there for many years.
