Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said Monday that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, his government, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are a bunch of liars who have mastered the art of befooling people with bluffs.
Tiwari added that Kejriwal’ promise on Saturday to do away with residential house tax if his party won the upcoming MCD election is part of his series of bluffs.
Kejriwal preferred not to respond to the allegations that BJP has leveled against him and his party. Instead, he simply said, “नव रात्रि पर सभी को हार्दिक शुभ कामनायें।”

In order to substantiate its claims about Kejriwal, BJP issued two letters sent by Kejriwal government to municipal corporations directing to increase Property Tax rates, increase the ambit of taxable properties, and remove ad hoc Safai Karamcharis.
As an election promise, Kejriwal has announced that once in power in municipal corporations, his administration will exempt all residential properties from the ambit of property tax apart from ensuring regular salary payment to the staff.

Delhi BJP president presented the copy of a letter sent to the three municipal commissioners wherein the Delhi Government had asked them to implement increased property taxes as per Municipal Valuation Committee report and to extend the ambit of properties covered for property tax realization.
According to BJP, Kejriwal government in its letter has also directed the municipal corporations to remove ad hoc Safai Karamcharis and other class IV staff.

Tiwari said people of Delhi have no faith in Kejriwal’s words as they have seen the fate of his pre-election promises in 2015. The promises of cheap power and free water apart from those of bus marshals or lower ticket price, women security have all fallen flat, Tiwari said.
“Arvind Kejriwal is a master of bluffs, but he should now know that people of Delhi well understand his lies and so he cannot anymore mislead them like he did between 2013-15,” Tiwari said.
The MCD election is scheduled to take place on April 23, 2017.
