Congress to Hold Candle March to Make Delhi Pollution-Free
The Delhi unit of Congress party will organize a candle march and form a human chain to spread awareness about lethal pollution in Delhi.
According to a party statement, the demonstration will take place under the leadership of Ajay Maken on November 22 at 5:00 p.m. in Connaught Place area of New Delhi.
“हजारों कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता श्री @ajaymaken के नेतृत्व में 22 नवम्बर 2018, सांय 5 बजे कनॉट प्लेस, राजीव चौक पर दिल्ली को प्रदूषण मुक्त कराने की मांग को लेकर कैंडल मार्च तथा मानव श्रंखला का आयोजन करेंगे।” the party tweeted.

While Delhi Government and Indian Government are not taking any steps to control pollution in the city, the air in Delhi has an annual average of 122 µg/m3 of PM2.5* particles. That’s 12.2 times of the WHO safe level. This is an extremely dangerous pollution level.

Meanwhile, the local citizens have formed a Green Group of Delhi to inform public and the government about the harmful effects of pollution.
The major activities of the Green Group of Delhi are around environment protection to save the environment from air pollution, dust pollution, noise pollution, water pollution, etc. in order to minimize the effect of pollution on Climate Change.
