Congress president Rahul Gandhi who has been exposing corruption in the PM Narendra Modi-led government, stated Wednesday that as a democratic representative of the people he has the right to attack PM Modi’s corruption – particularly in the Rafale case.
Rahul Gandhi expressed his opinion about Modi in a 2-page letter written to BJP leader and Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar who is also an accused in the Rafale scam, which is believed to be the biggest financial scandal in the world.
The Congress president wrote the letter in response to a Parrikar’s letter in which the latter refuted the claims of discussing Rafale case with Rahul Gandhi when he met him.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said that Parrikar – a former Defence Minister (DM) in Modi government – is blackmailing Modi with the documents that he has related to the Rafale scam.

The Congress leader was referring to a leaked audio clip that reveals a cabinet minister of Goa stating that Parrikar has claimed that he has all the secret files of Rafale deal and Modi cannot harm him.
In order to get the Rafale case investigated, former Indian ministers Yashwant Sinha and Arun Shourie, and lawyer-activist Prashant Bhushan had filed a complaint with the CBI, urging the agency to register FIR against Modi and Parrikar.
The complaint alleges that Modi and Parrikar have committed a number of offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, in the course of the April 2015 decision to purchase 36 Rafale aircraft from Dassault Aviation. The complaint was handed over to CBI director Alok Verma, who has been removed from his position surreptitiously by a 3-member committee headed by Modi.
I totally empathise with Parrikar Ji’s situation & wish him well. He’s under immense pressure from the PM after our meeting in Goa and needs to demonstrate his loyalty by attacking me.

The complaint states that Modi – who is a public servant – misused his position as PM of India to give undue benefit to his close associate Anil Ambani who is the Chairman of Reliance ADA group of companies.
Now Congress party and other Modi opponents are demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe in the Rafale case.
