A Day Without a Woman: Are You In?
After a massive demonstration in January against the new U.S. President Donald Trump, the Women’s March on Washington (WMW) has decided to organize another campaign to highlight women’s plight under the Trump Administration.
On International Women’s Day, March 8th, the organizers of Women’s March are calling people to observe the day as ‘A Day Without a Woman.’ The new campaign is suggesting a total strike on March 8th.
According to the campaign, women will act together for equity, justice and the human rights of women and all gender-oppressed people, through a one-day demonstration of economic solidarity.
The protest aims to highlight women’s contribution to the society while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity.

“We recognize that trans and gender nonconforming people face heightened levels of discrimination, social oppression and political targeting. We believe in gender justice,” says WMW.
‘A Day Without a Woman‘ urges women to take the day off from paid and unpaid labor on March 8th, avoid shopping for one day, and wear RED in solidarity with the campaign.
