While Donald Trump is leaving no stone unturned to discredit the special counsel Robert Mueller‘s Trump-Russia investigation, a new campaign is asking Americans to urge the U.S. senators to protect the ongoing probe.
Currently, Mueller is leading a judicial team to know the extent of Trump-Russia ties that allegedly helped Trump win the 2016 presidential race.
“The Senate has the opportunity to show bipartisan support and protect the Mueller investigation — and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has completely halted any chance of this bill getting approved,” the campaign argues.
It asks people to email their senators so they could urge McConnell to allow this bill to come to a vote on the Senate floor and tell them to stop any of Trump’s judicial nominees until McConnell puts the interests of the country ahead of Trump’s.

The bipartisan bill ensures that acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker — who has been “nominated unconstitutionally to protect Trump” cannot fire Mueller and that the investigation will continue.
Yesterday, Mitch McConnell blocked a vote on a bipartisan bill that would protect Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Earlier, in order to protect the Mueller investigation, The Nobody Is Above the Law – which is network of multiple organizations – had given a call to hold protests on November 8 at different U.S. locations.
“Trump putting himself above the law is a threat to our democracy, and we’ve got to get Congress to stop him,” the network said. “We’re mobilizing immediately to demand accountability, because Trump is not above the law.”
Meanwhile, global anti-corruption coalition Transparency International has called on U.S. leadership to defend the independence and integrity of the investigation led by special counsel Mueller.
“Any attempt to suppress inquiries or investigations related to the President by the President himself or his staff is cause for serious concern,” said Patricia Moreira, managing director of Transparency International.
Transparency said that the provision of justice free from political interference is core to global anti-corruption efforts.
