Concannon to Celebrate National Cabernet Day
Concannon Vineyard will celebrate all things Cabernet Sauvignon at the winery on National Cabernet Day, Thursday, August 29, 2013, commemorating 130 years of growing and producing this varietal.
Concannon will be offering guests special tastings of Concannon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and will host a “Cabernet is King” Barbeque Dinner with wine pairings.
Founder of America’s first Petite Sirah, Concannon Vineyard introduced Concannon Cabernet Sauvignon clones 7, 8 and 11, which provided the backbone of Napa Valley’s Cabernet Sauvignon resurgence in the 1970’s and 1980’s.
The historic winery earned organic certification for its estate vineyards in 2010 and preserves an agricultural way of life by protecting vineyards from urban development through its Conservancy tier of wines.
