Dates Announced for the 2016 Nobel Prizes
The date and time for the announcements of the recipients of the Nobel Prize and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel are now set.
The process of the Nobel Committees to independently and expertly select the 2016 Nobel Laureates is now in progress. This year’s Laureates will be announced between 3 and 10 October.
These are researchers, authors and peace advocates who, according to the vision of Alfred Nobel, have conferred the greatest benefit to mankind.
Monday 3 October, 11:30 a.m. – The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine
The prize will be announced by Thomas Perlmann, Secretary of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine.
Tuesday 4 October, 11:45 a.m. – The Nobel Prize in Physics
The prize will be announced by Göran K. Hansson, Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
Wednesday 5 October, 11:45 a.m. – The Nobel Prize in Chemistry
The prize will be announced by Göran K. Hansson, Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
Friday 7 October, 11:00 a.m. – The Nobel Peace Prize
The prize will be announced by Kaci Kullmann Five, Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
Monday 10 October, 11:45 a.m. – The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel
The prize will be announced by Göran K. Hansson, Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
According to tradition, the Swedish Academy will set the date for its announcement of the Nobel Prize in Literature later. The prize will be announced by Sara Danius, Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy.
