Kylie Minogue for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Macy’s announces the addition of international superstar, Kylie Minogue, to the cast of stars set to perform in the 84th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The 84th edition of America’s favorite holiday tradition will step off at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 25th, ready to entertain more than 3.5 million spectators lining the streets of Manhattan and more than 50 million viewers nationwide, says Macy’s.
Meanwhile, The Young Americans, a Southern California based non-profit performing arts company, was handpicked by parade talent officials to perform this year at the 84th Annual Macy’s Parade. (Read: The Young Americans Show for Thanksgiving Day)
Moreover, Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education and media company, will host a live virtual field trip to Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, Mass., on Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.
Called “The First Thanksgiving,” the free webcast event will feature presentations and interviews with Colonial and Wampanoag role players and give students opportunities to ask questions, answer polls and gain a deeper understanding about the holiday. Over the course of her 20-plus-year-career, according to Macy’s, Kylie Minogue has been a global force in pop music and is one of the world’s most successful female artists with more than 60 million albums sold worldwide, 50 hit singles and 11 studio albums.
Her most recent release, Aphrodite, entered the top 10 in thirteen different countries. It became Kylie’s fifth UK #1 album and made her the first solo artist in the history of the UK charts to have four #1 albums in four different decades.
Aphrodite has spawned back to back #1 U.S. Billboard Club singles with “All The Lovers” and “Get Outta My Way.”

On Parade day, Kylie will perform a song from her album Aphrodite on the new Homewood Suites by Hilton On The Roll Again float. The float, based on the wonder of wooden pull toys features a colorful and adorable family of ducks, literally in a Parade.
With the final completion of the float performance roster, the 2010 Macy’s Parade includes an impressive list of artists spanning different musical genres and generations.
From country to pop, Spanish-rock to folk and rap, the Parade will feature a star-studded list of artists for millions to enjoy, says Macy’s.
The Parade airs from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (in all time zones) on NBC-TV.
