Modi Gifted Political Space to Anti-India Forces: Rahul Gandhi
India’s Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has devastated one of the fastest growing economies in the world, said top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi was addressing today the Congress Parliamentary Party in the Central Hall of Parliament.
He said that Modi has confined himself in a prison of his own making. It is his image. He has invested so much into it that he can’t think beyond it. And the people who are suffering are the common, honest and hard working citizens of India.
Rahul Gandhi was referring to Modi’s recent demonetization decision. Modi had demonetized currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 on November 8, saying that the step has been taken to check corruption and stop the flow of black money.
Common people and opposition parties in India are up in arms against the Modi government because the decision to stop the circulation of currency is causing severe hardships to commoners.
This war-like situation is causing deaths of innocent people who keep standing in queues even in harsh weather with the hope to get their old currency exchanged from banks.

“The two examples of PM Modi’s inconsistent and ill-conceived policies are his Pakistan policy and demonetization,” said Rahul Gandhi. “Today, the Prime Minister, who ridiculed the government when in opposition, sits silently while Kashmir burns and has gifted political space to anti-India forces by creating an opportunistic political alliance between the BJP and the PDP.”
Headed by chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP or PDP) is a political party in the Jammu and Kashmir state. It has an alliance with Modi’s Hindu party BJP.

On the 8th of November, according to Rahul Gandhi, the Prime Minister Modi decided to make illegal 86% of the currency circulating in the economy, devastating one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
Rahul Gandhi said it is clear that India’s GDP will be devastated because of demonetization and millions of migrant labourers and farmers have already been crushed. Entire industries have been destroyed and people have lost the right to access their own hard earned money, he said.
About India’s Pakistan policy, Rahul Gandhi said in the last 30 months of Modi’s government, there have been thousands of ceasefire violations, numerous deaths of our Jawans and civilians, and loss to property and local economy of our frontier states.
Rahul Gandhi further said that under Modi’s tenure, terrorists sponsored by Pakistan are walking into our defence establishments and killing our soldiers.
