Pied Piper Strategy: How Hillary Clinton Helped Trump Win
By Rakesh Raman
The election strategy that Hillary Clinton camp made during the primary season went awfully wrong. The Clinton campaign used media contacts to elevate Donald Trump instead of knocking him out of the race using a plan that was named the “Pied Piper” strategy.
It was revealed today by WikiLeaks, which also has released the email dated April 23, 2015 used to circulate the strategy document among Clinton campaign managers.
RMN cannot independently confirm the authenticity of the WikiLeaks documents.
The plan was supposed to undermine the credibility / trust of Republican presidential candidates labeled as Pied Piper candidates. They included Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and Ben Carson.

“We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack and tell the press to them seriously…” the Clinton plan suggested.
In politics, a Pied Piper is a leader who makes irresponsible promises.
While the Clinton campaign managers had planned to artificially promote these candidates using media contacts, Trump leveraged this strategy to his advantage to emerge as the winner and become the U.S. President.
