The U.S. President Donald Trump today targeted Pakistan for spreading terrorism. In a hard-hitting early morning tweet, Trump not only blamed Pakistan, but he also attacked his predecessors for helping Pakistan while the Muslim-majority nation, according to Trump, has done little to curb terrorism.
“The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies and deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools,” Trump said.
He added that Pakistan is giving safe haven to the terrorists that America wants to capture in Afghanistan.

Trump also hinted that he will stop financial aid to Pakistan. “No more!” he said with a usual exclamation mark at the end of his tweet.
Pakistan, however, claims that it is doing a lot to combat and check terrorism. Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, for example, is a joint effort by the Pakistani military and law-enforcement agencies to arrest terrorists.
The operation, according to Pakistan, is aimed at eliminating the threat of terrorism, and is an extension of operation Zarb-i-Azb which was launched in 2014 as a joint military offensive.
