When You Are a Click Away from Digital Disaster
According to a survey, 61 percent of consumers click on links while online that take them to unexpected places, making them vulnerable to cyberattacks that can lead to identity theft, theft of their financial records and banking information and loss of their digital belongings, including music, family photos, important documents and more.
Sixty-six percent reported that they would be financially susceptible if their computers were accessed without their permission, and 67 percent said they would be devastated if they lost everything on their computer and/or connected device.
Trend Micro, a company offering Internet security solutions, today (August 22) announced new survey results revealing consumer behavior and sentiment around online security.

The company provides additional protection with value-added products bundled with Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security, including a tool that visually identifies safe and malicious links on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Titanium Maximum Security also offers mobile security for smart phones and tablets, including tools for Android devices with Trend Micro Mobile Security Personal Edition and file and folder synchronization and backup through Trend Micro SafeSync online service.
“The online threat landscape is changing, and it is critical for consumers and their families to arm themselves against these threats that put their digital lives at risk,” said Carol Carpenter, executive general manager for the consumer business unit at Trend Micro.
The consumer survey also showed that concerns over antivirus software slowing their computer down, or using too much memory, were among the top reasons consumers chose not to use security software.
By offering its protection as a cloud-based solution, Titanium 2012 utilizes less than half the disk space and memory of other security products while providing up-to –the-minute protection and proactively stops threats before they reach the consumer, claims the company.
Titanium 2012 is available in three packages, each designed to meet specific needs of families and individuals. It can be purchased at the Trend Micro online store, through retail partners in select countries worldwide and at other retail locations online.
