World Cyber Games in China’s Kunshan City
World Cyber Games (WCG), organizer of the international video game competition and festival, announced Friday at the signing ceremony that Kunshan, China will be the host city of WCG 2012 & 2013 Grand Finals.
As the official host city for WCG 2012 & 2013 Grand Finals, elite gamers from all around the world will flock to Kunshan International Convention & Exhibition Center next year to compete for the title of world’s best gamer.
In bringing the Grand Final to China for the second time after WCG 2009 in Chengdu, WCG decided to stage Grand Final in Kunshan for the next 2 consecutive years.
China is the world’s fastest growing market in video gaming industry, and WCG had made its final decision to Kunshan, where it has been increasing its international reputation in IT industry, said WCG.
“Kunshan is now promoting the further development of its economy by giving priority to modern service industry, culture industry and digital animation industry,” said vice-secretary of Kunshan Municipal Committee of CCP and Acting Mayor of Kunshan Municipal Government Lu Jun.
WCG 2011 Grand Final is going to be held in Busan, South Korea from Dec. 8 to 11, and Samsung Electronics is sponsoring worldwide.
Kunshan is located in the core of China’s Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle, neighboring to Shanghai in the east and Suzhou in the west.
